For the past few years as I began to compost in earnest, a plastic coffee can adorned my counter to house the vegetable scraps destined for the compost bin. The color would vary as I checked out different brands of coffee. I did try to keep the can tucked away behind my coffee pot in an attempt to be discreet. No matter! On a counter that isn’t cluttered, it stood out. This past Christmas our daughter gave us a sleek and stylish compost container. I love it. It sits on my counter and I make no attempt to hide it! It is has a large and sleek ceramic outer shell, and a plaster liner with an easy-carry handle. The lid holds a charcoal filter. It is a thoughtful gift that I love. I know I have improved my garden soil with all my composting over the years. I am always surprised when my husband turns the compost and I end up with a generous mound of rich compost. Now my vegetable scraps will wait for their trip to the bin in style!
