Dough Scraper, Bench Scraper – both names work for me!

This is by far one of the handiest kitchen tools I have!  I use it for scraping and moving dough when making pasta or bread, (OK, useage for bread dough is way, way, way, infrequent!).  I use it all the time when cutting and chopping vegetables or proteins for cooking.  The blade is about 6 inches long, and has a convenient ruler etched on the side of the blade for measuring crusts, etc.  The blade isn’t really meant for actuall chopping, but for scraping and scooping items you have cut to place in your pan or bowl.  I have found when cooking meats like poultry that I want to cut in small pieces, as in Peanut-Chicken Wraps, the scraper does cut through cooked meats well, right in the pan.  These scrapers are not expensive.  Ten dollars will buy you a bench scraper!
