This is a tasty sauce mix, and so handy to keep in the refrigerator. I use it in Chicken & Pasta Bruschetta, but it stars in other uses as well. Shake a bit on cooked broccoli or cauliflower for a nice change of pace. Sprinkle a bit onto chicken as it bakes for a flavorful result. It works on grilled bread, and it nice stirred into any cooked pasta. It is really handy when you are cooking pasta for a single serving. Just add a bit of olive oil to your cooked pasta and a bit of the sauce blend and you have a flavorful meal. The nice thing about the mix is you can control the amount of salt you put it to it, if any at all. Often I add a fourth of a cup of cooked lean bacon bits to the mix. I usually double the recipe so I always have some handy.
In a glass jar add the following:
1-teaspoon onion powder
1-teaspoon paprika
1-teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried basil
1-teaspoon oregano
2 tablespoons dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1-teaspoon celery salt
1-tablespoon sugar
1-tablespoon cornstarch
½ cup powdered milk
¼ cup Parmesan cheese
Cover the jar tightly and shake to mix. Store in refrigerator. This makes about 1-cup of mix.
